Salicylic Acid For Skin Ailments
Salicylic acid is a very well known acne treating agent. It is recommended commonly for many skin ailments. This is because of its skin cleansing property which has proven to be effective in many cases. The one big purpose of it is for treating acne. Acne is known to occur due to the clogging of pores by oil secreted or dead skin which may clog into the pores. This causes the sebum to get plugged and results in the inflammation of the pores.
Thus it is used to remove these clogs and also to cleanse the skin in depth till the pores. This prevents the acne and also reduces the already formed acnes over the skin. It is also used as an ingredient in other skin products also.
There are many salicylic acid products doing the rounds. This is because of the effective pore cleansing properties of it. Although it may have great effect over acne treatment it may also backfire and cause side effects. For people who have got very sensitive skin, this may not be a very good solution. This is because using salicylic acid over already broken skin for these sensitive people can cause irritation and dryness.
This might be worse than having acne over the skin. Hence this might not turn out to be a good solution for sensitive skin. Hence you must not go by the words of others and consult a dermatologist before using salicylic products.
