These days, children prefer to spend time on the computer go outside and kick a ball around or ride their bikes. And with all the junk food ads aimed at children by the media, we parents have our job cut out for us.
The bottom line is our lifestyle has changed. We do not walk as much as we used to. We eat per-packaged or fast foods instead of homemade food. What exercise can compete with video games?
Times have definitely changed, but that does not mean we have to give up completely. It’s just a matter of putting some simple measures in place.
Here are some easy tips to ensure their children develop a life-long healthy lifestyle.
1. Limit your children television, computer and video game time. This may not be easy at first, but be persistent. Suggest an activity they can do, or better yet go outside with them and join in.
