Diagnosis and Treatment of Prostatitis

Diagnosis
The pain, inflammation and swelling in the area inside the penis or around it, requiring an immediate visit to the doctor. Do not wait, because a severe infection could compromise their fertility. The doctor will take a medical history and perform physical examinations of the rectum and prostate. This will be placed and insert a lubricated, gloved finger into the rectum to feel the prostate and determine if it is inflamed. Gently tighten the gland to force out the liquid inside, then be expelled in the urine. Then examine the urine for gonococcal bacteria and other microorganisms.
The doctor will try to differentiate prostatitis other inflammations of the prostate, such as:
* Prostatic hypertrophy (enlarged prostate)
* Prostate Cancer (more common in the elderly).
