Nettle (Urtica dioica) is a good remedy herbal nettle (Urtica dioica), which contains a substance (quercetin) that functions as a natural antihistamine. Freeze-dried leaf capsules are available, take 500mg two or three times a day or half teaspoon nettle extract four times a day.
Ginkgo biloba has become famous for its memory boosting properties, but is an effective allergy fighter too. Take 60-240mg a day, but no more. Ginkgo contains ginkgolides, which can inhibit the activity of certain allergy-triggering chemicals (PAF). You can take the long term.
Quercetin Quercetin is a plant pigments and antioxidants can inhibit histamine release. Foods naturally rich in quercetin include citrus fruits, purple or yellow onion, garlic, buckwheat. Concentrate quercetin is also available in capsules: take 500mg twice a day between meals. It works best when you start a month before the start of allergy season. Pursue throughout the season.
