Feeding Children

Diet is key in controlling high cholesterol and overweight in our children. These conditions can cause many health problems like diabetes and high blood pressure. Moreover, not only can affect your child now but also during adulthood. By helping your child lead a healthy diet and do regular exercise may reduce the risk of these health problems.

Firstly it is important to be an example. If you prepare nutritious meals for your family your son will get used to eating a healthier way. Make sure to provide a variety of foods so that it receives all the vitamins and minerals your body needs to function properly.

At breakfast, for example, you should give foods high in fiber. Whole-grain breads, cereals, fruit, low fat cheeses and yogurt are also good food to start the day. Use skim or low-fat instead of whole milk. Fruit juice is usually high in calories and sugar and has fewer nutrients than fresh fruit.

For lunch bread used to make a healthy sandwich. Whole grains increase the total amount of fiber in your child’s diet and also are less prepared than white bread. Give your child always used graham crackers and fresh fruit instead of other snacks high in calories and low in nutrients.
